A day packed with activities, events and displays...suitable for all ages and FREE.
The day starts with a cooking demonstration using sustainable sea food, with critically acclaimed chef from the Harbour Restaurant, Broadford. Workshop starts at 11am, booking essential by contacting Janet Ullman.
Story telling and music with Bob Pegg at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm. Seashore puppet tales at 12 noon.
The Highland Council Ranger, Jenny will lead a seashore discovery walk at 1.30pm. James Merryweather of SLEF will guide groups in rock pooling and beastie spotting at low tide at 3pm.
Through the day the artist Beads will need help creating a Loch Messie Monster out of flotsam from the sea.
Inside the hall there will be displays and activities from the RSPB, Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Society, Seashore fossils from Staffin Museum, Eilean Ban, Am Bata, SLEF, The Highland Council Rangers and of course the Highland Seashore Project.
SLEF's brilliant USB microscope will be available to examine closely any seashore treaures brought along.
