SLEF PHOTO COMPETITION
As part of a big event to celebrate the variety of life, or biodiversity, of the area, Skye & Lochalsh Environment Forum (SLEF) is inviting entries into a photographic competition.
The competition is open to amateur photographers living in Skye & Lochalsh with 3 entry categories: Primary school pupils, Secondary school pupils and adults. Valuable prizes of equipment and tuition with professional photographers are on offer for the winners.
Any individual may submit a maximum of 4 still images taken locally, which capture the theme “Celebrating the Biodiversity of Skye & Lochalsh”.
The deadline for receipt of entries, which should be submitted digitally, is 31st August 2013.
Chair of SLEF, Iain Turnbull, said, “This area supports such a wide variety of life, from rare species found in remote and almost inaccessible places to more familiar and commonly seen creatures that share our everyday lives.
“We hope that this competition will inspire people to take out their cameras and record what they see around them. It’s open to anyone – we’ll accept digital photographs on cameras or mobile phones, so access to expensive equipment is not necessary.
“SLEF is holding an exciting celebratory event in Portree High School on Saturday 28th September – all suitable images submitted will be shown and the prize winners announced and presented on that day”.
